Aviators come from behind to win again

May 15, 2005 - Central Baseball League (Central League) - Coastal Bend Aviators News Release

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Coastal Bend Aviators rallied for the second night in a row to win 7-4 over the Shreveport Sports. The Aviators have now won game one and two of the three-game series.

Shreveport took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Chad Gambill had a two-run homerun and Dalphie Correa had a RBI triple in the inning for the Sports.

The Aviators cut the lead in half in top of the fourth inning on Kevin Henry’s two-run triple.

Stephen Morales hit a RBI double in the fifth inning cutting the Shreveport lead to one run. Jack Joffrion then picked up a RBI on a ground out tying the game. The Aviators took the lead and never looked back when Edwin Maldonado hit a two-run shot to left field giving the Aviators the 6-4 lead.

Joffrion gave the Aviators an insurance run in the seventh inning on a RBI double.

Dan Henderson (1-0) picked up the win for the Aviators. Melvin Rosario and Shawn Morgan combined for three innings of scoreless relief for the Aviators. Josh Gold (0-1) took the loss for Shreveport.

The series with Shreveport wraps Sunday at 2:05. The Aviators return home on Friday to take on Shreveport in a three-game series at Fairgrounds Field.
