November 30, 2007 - arenafootball2 (af2)
Austin Wranglers News Release

AUSTIN-The Austin Wranglers arenafootball2 (af2) franchise will be conducting open player tryouts for all interested parties on Saturday, December 1, 2007. The event, which is intended to provide football players from throughout Central Texas with the opportunity to compete for a training camp roster spot on the Wranglers squad, will be held at Yellow Jacket Stadium in Austin.

The Wranglers coaching team is looking for players from across the country to fill spots on the Austin roster. Head Coach Ben Bennett knows, however, that there is a great deal of talent to draw from in the State of Texas. "I'm excited to see the talent in the Austin area," said Bennett. "Texas is football country and there should be some really good players there."

Participants will first undergo physical testing, including height and weight measurements, shuttle, L-shuttle, 40s and vertical jumps. Those players that qualify will advance to the football skills testing portion of the workout, which will include pro agility drills and position specific drills for offensive/defensive linemen, fullback/linebackers, quarterbacks, wide receivers/defensive backs and kickers.
