CEDAR PARK, Texas - Cady Lalanne posted a team-high 23 points as the Austin Spurs (25-17) fell to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (24-20) 109-104 Thursday night at Cedar Park Center.

Nick Johnson recorded 21 points, and San Antonio Spurs assignee Jonathon Simmons added 15.

Jordan Hamilton posted a double-double for RGV contributing 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Jaron Johnson led the team with 24 points.

Austin gained an early lead halfway through the first quarter, 24-12, but RGV used an 8-0 run to cut Austin's lead to three, 28-25, with two minutes remaining. They shot 71 percent from the field compared to RGV's 32 percent and ended the quarter up 32-29. Johnson led Austin with 10 points in the quarter, while Johnson led RGV with 10 points.

RGV controlled the momentum to begin the second, taking the lead within the first minute of the quarter, 33-32. Austin fought back to regain the lead with five minutes remaining, 46-45, on a two-point basket by Atlanta Hawks assignee Walter Tavares. They trailed at the half, 61-56.

RGV led by as many as 11 in the third (69-58) at three minutes into the quarter. Austin closed the gap, cutting the lead to one with two minutes remaining, but RGV grew their lead to seven, finishing the quarter 88-81.

Austin outscored RGV 23-21 in the fourth, but they were unable to take the lead and fell to RGV 109-104.
