AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs (8-18) claimed victory over the Greensboro Swarm (8-18), 125-110, at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Friday night.
Blake Wesley led in points for Austin notching a season high of 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Two Spurs players recorded a double-double with Dominick Barlow claiming 27 points and 13 rebounds while Julian Champagnie scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Spurs took control of the first frame, outscoring the Swarm 34-21, shooting 65.2% (15-23) from the field. Greensboro fought back in the second frame, going on a 14-0 run with 8:32 remaining as they outscored Austin 39-29, to trail by three at the end of half, 60-63. The Spurs came back in the third quarter to outscore the Swarm 34-20. The momentum continued into the final frame for Austin as a 10-3 run with 2:30 remaining helped sealed the win for the Spurs.
Jaylen Sims led Greensboro with a season high of 33 points and 7 rebounds. Isaiah Whaley added 16 points and 8 rebounds. Theo Maledon chipped 15 points and 5 rebounds for the Swarm.
