Austin FC News Release

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC tied 3-3 with LA Galaxy at Q2 Stadium, with goals from Alex Ring, Ethan Finlay, and Emiliano Rigoni.

The Verde & Black started quickly following a lengthy weather delay. Ring opened the scoring in the 11th minute after Rigoni laid the ball off to him in the box. Leo Väisänen then denied the Galaxy with a terrific goalline block.

Both teams scored in first half stoppage time. The Galaxy equalized when Riqui Puig converted from the penalty spot, but Austin retook the lead four minutes later. Jon Gallagher did well to beat his defender down the left flank and find Finlay, who slid the ball in with the final play before halftime.

Brad Stuver came up with a pair of important saves in the early stages of the second half, stopping LA's Billy Sharp and Michael Barrios. Dani Pereira's clever through ball set up Rigoni to double the Verde & Black's advantage in the 75th minute, with the Argentine smashing a powerful strike past Galaxy goalkeeper Jonathan Bond.

LA pulled off a late comeback though, as goals from Dejan Joveljic in the 89th minute and Michael Barrios in stoppage time ensured the points were shared on the night.
