Austin FC Draw 2-2 with Philadelphia Union

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC drew 2-2 with Philadelphia Union on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium, thanks to second half goals from Diego Rubio and Jon Gallagher.

Philadelphia took the lead early with a penalty kick in the 14th minute. Brad Stuver kept the deficit at one (1) with a crucial save in the 22nd minute, 1 of 2 saves he made in the first half.

After halftime, the Verde & Black came out with renewed energy and equalized with a header from Diego Rubio in the 56th minute. Just two (2) minutes later, Jon Gallagher scored with his right foot from the left side of the box to put Austin ahead. Gallagher's six (6) goals since the start of the 2023 season are the most by any MLS defender.

The Union then got a second goal of their own through Mikael Uhre in the 65th minute. Austin FC Designated Player Sebastián Driussi came on for his season debut with 19 minutes remaining, and although the Argentine playmaker helped push ATXFC forward, the match ultimately ended in a draw.
