AUSTIN, Texas (Wednesday, February 25, 2015) - The Austin Aztex have announced they have entered a media partnership with Austin American-Statesman. The partnership will allow the Statesman to serve as the Official Statistics Partner for all in-game statistics for Austin Aztex home games.

"We are very excited to work with the Austin American-Statesman," Aztex CEO Rene van de Zande said. "By partnering with an iconic and influential organization such as the Statesman, we are able to realize our mission of bringing a major league franchise to the city."

The partnership will allow the Aztex to leverage the Statesman's diverse portfolio of print, digital, mobile and social audiences in a groundbreaking partnership for the Aztex.

The Austin American-Statesman is part of Statesman Media, the premier media company in Central Texas that includes print, digital, delivery, commercial printing and packaging. The portfolio includes the Austin American-Statesman; six community newspapers; Austin360, the entertainment publication; ¡ahora sí!, the Spanish-language newspaper; corresponding websites, apps, digital editions and social media feeds. The print products reach more than 638,000 readers each week, while digital platforms draw 5 million visitors accessing more than 26 million pages each month.

"The Austin Aztex have worked hard to bring professional soccer to our community and we applaud this effort," said Susie Ellwood, publisher of the Austin American-Statesman. "Our partnership with the Aztex provides a unique opportunity to reach Austinites and visitors through a sport that inspires passion and loyalty from its fans. "

As Austin's professional soccer team, the Aztex worked with the Statesman in previous events including the USA vs. Belgium World Cup Watch Party held at the Long Center in July 2014 as well as the ATX Pro Challenge held earlier this month.

The Austin Aztex kick off their inaugural 2015 season in USL with a home match versus the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on March 28 at House Park. Season ticket packages start as low as $99. For more information, visit www.austinaztex.com.
