Austin Aztex News Release

AUSTIN, Texas (Wednesday, February 25, 2015) - The Austin Aztex have announce they added forward Sainey Touray to the 2015 USL roster.

The Gambian striker has built up a career that features record-setting play in his home country. He also knows U.S. professional soccer well, as he has spent time in USL, NASL, and MLS. His resume includes two national championships, one in Gambia, and another one in the United States.

Touray, a 25-year-old forward, has had experience with several professional clubs before landing with the Aztex. In 2005, the native of Gambia became a centerpiece of the Gambian First Division's club Wallidan F.C., for whom he scored 21 goals, lifting them to the 2008 national title. His efforts gave him the opportunity to travel to England and train with Arsenal of the English Premier League.

He then signed with the New York Red Bulls for the 2008 MLS season. By 2010, he was acquired by the Harrisburg City Islanders of USL, where he played four seasons, tallying 20 goals in 61 appearances. In 2013, during his last campaign at the USL level, Touray's outstanding performance earned him recognition and a spot on USL PRO's All League First Team. In 2014, he signed with the San Antonio Scorpions of NASL, helping them win the NASL championship that season.

On the international level, Touray was called to represent Gambia on the U-17 and U-20 national team.

Now, the current 2015 USL roster stands at 17 announced players. The Aztex will continue their preseason when they face the University of Incarnate Word on Saturday 28th at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. Kick off will take place at 4:00 p.m. The event will be free and open to the public.
