
Austen King Set to Return to RailHawks

CARY, NC (January 7, 2015) - The Carolina RailHawks announced today the re-signing of former RailHawks U-23 player Austen King ahead of the 2015 Season. The North Carolina native originally joined the RailHawks first team ahead of the 2012 season.
"We are very proud of Austen's development over the last three seasons. He has played a key role in our team and is a fan favorite, we are very happy to have him back. Along with Conor Tobin and Daniel Scott, Austen will be called upon to play a very important role in our backline this coming year," said RailHawks Head Coach Colin Clarke.
King was part of the RailHawks U-23's that won the USASA Men's U-23 Region III and National Championship in 2011. Since joining the RailHawks first team in 2012, he has amassed 3,329 minutes over 40 appearances and scored 2 goals.
The RailHawks central defender played collegiately at Elon University, and was a two-time Southern Conference Academic All-Conference. He was also named to the Southern Conference All-Tournament Team in 2011 after helping Elon win the title. King is a former member of the Capital Area Soccer League, and captained his team to the USYSA Southern Regional finals in 2007.
"It's an honor to be able to play for my local team," said Austen King. "Colin Clarke, Greg Shields, Dewan Bader and the rest of the coaching staff are building something special here, and I am extremely happy to continue being a part of it. I am sure that we will be bringing a championship back to the Triangle soon."
As it stands, the current RailHawks roster consists of nine players, three defenders (Tobin, Scott and King), three midfielders (Albadawi, Shipalane and Osaki) and three forwards (Novo, Jackson and Bracalello). The RailHawks are expected to announce additional players in the coming days.
Austen and the RailHawks will open the 2015 Season at home against Ottawa Fury FC on Saturday, April 4^th at 1:00pm.
