NEW YORK (January 7, 2015) - As the Fort Lauderdale Strikers prepare for the 2015 North American Soccer League (NASL) Season, the club is set to officially introduce a world soccer icon as a member of its ownership group. Brazilian legend Ronaldo will address the media at a press conference at Fort Lauderdale's Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Wednesday, January 14 at 3 p.m. ET.

A three-time FIFA World Player of the Year and two-time FIFA World Cup Champion, Ronaldo finalized his ownership stake in the Strikers in December. On January 14, he will address the media and the South Florida community for the first time since joining the Strikers family.

The press conference will take place just 24 hours after one of Ronaldo's former clubs, Brazilian giant Corinthians, concludes a five-day preseason training stint at Lockhart Stadium, the home of the Strikers.

Following the press conference, Ronaldo will be made available for group and one-on-one interviews, and media that wish to attend the press conference must request credentials from Fort Lauderdale Strikers Communications Director Ben Markus. He can be reached over the phone at 954-606-0409 or via email at ben@strikers.com [mailto:ben@strikers.com].

The Strikers kick off the 2015 NASL Spring Season on Saturday, April 4 at home against the New York Cosmos in an iconic rivalry matchup that dates back to the 1970s. The Cosmos will come to town with a roster featuring Spanish legend Raul, who played alongside Ronaldo for several years at Real Madrid.
