Southaven, Miss. - Nick Vandenbeld tied the game with less than three minutes left to go in regulation, but Augusta was able to net the winner in regulation to knock off the RiverKings 3-2 in the 'Kings regular season home finale.

Neil Graham got the scoring started late in the first period as he put the puck past David Wilson to give the Riverhawks the 1-0 lead.

Scoring subsided until the third period when Jim Gehring ripped a shot past the RiverKings' netminder to put Augusta up by two 2:04 into the final period.

But the RiverKings chipped away at the deficit when Gabriel Boutin-Gagnon netted his first goal as a 'King on a shot from the point. Mark Magnowski and Matt Whitehead tallied assists. Then, with just under three minutes left to play in regulation, Kyle Lundale found a streaking Nick Vandenbeld who put a shot over Peter Skoggard to tie the game at two.

Augusta picked up the game winner 50 seconds later when Brandon Kosolofsky put home a rebound to give the Riverhawks the 3-2 victory.

David Wilson (13-9-2) picked up the loss as he stopped 26 of 29 shots against. Peter Skoggard (12-4-3) tallied the win after stopping 29 of 31 shots against.

Following the game, the RiverKings auctioned off their Coors Light practice jerseys, which sold for a total of $6,950. A portion of those proceeds go to benefit the Mid-South Greyhound Adoption Option.

The RiverKings take to the ice tomorrow night as they take on the Knoxville Ice Bears at 6:35. The game will broadcast live on Sports 56 and the America One television network.
