AUGUSTA, GA: Tuesday night, May 26th the Augusta GreenJackets (21-22) were scheduled to play the Greenville Drive (26-18). Mark Reyes and Jeffry Fernandez were scheduled to pitch for both respectable clubs. As the teams were ready to take the field at 7:05pm, Mother Nature stepped in with a heavy rainstorm and changed what time the guests at Lake Olmstead Stadium would see the first pitch.
After a tarp pull by the GreenJackets staff and a forty-five minute rain delay the umpires decided to call it a night and postpone the game until tomorrow evening. Tonight's game is rescheduled for a 5:05pm start as part of a Wednesday night double header and the gates of Lake Olmstead Stadium will be opened at 4:30pm. Game two of the double header will proceed approximately thirty minutes after the first game has concluded. Both games will only be played at a length of seven innings.
Tomorrow night's promotional schedule and events will continue as scheduled. As The GreenJackets cap off the action packed homestand by giving away $100 dollars to a lucky guest on Wednesday, May 27th during our Baseball Bingo presented by Georgia Natural Gas. Guests will be able to play baseball bingo to win prizes throughout the game. Wednesday night, guests will be able to join in with the GreenJackets for Beyond Disability Night and help celebrate twenty-five wonder years of the American Disability Association (ADA). Come early and honor the hard work of local students throughout the CSRA with our Most Improved Student Program. The GreenJackets will also host the members of the Silver Jackets Club presented by AARP, Comfort Keepers, and JRS Medical.
