Owen Sound Attack News Release

A race for a Midwest division title has not stopped the Attack in their race to end bullying in Grey-Bruce Schools. Bullying has become a hot button topic in area schools the past few years and the Owen Sound Attack are there to lend a hand to area teachers to try and shut-out bullying.

"It is really great to be able to speak with these kids and discuss the importance of having respect for others.", said Attack Captain Garrett Wilson. "A lot of teachers we see after visiting their class have nothing but good things to say about their kids, so it's nice to know we have an impact on them."

The Attack has paid a visit to eleven schools so far this season, stretching as far out as Ripley and Mildmay-Carrick. With a little more than two months left in the season, the Attack still have 13 schools on the list, which includes visits to Normanby and St. Joseph's in Port Elgin.

"We are very happy to be able to continue this program year after year.", stated Brent Fisher, attack Director of Marketing and Public Relations. "Without the sponsors of this program, it would not be possible. If one child can benefit from this, it makes it all worthwhile." Sponsors of the program include the Society of Energy Professionals who has been a key contributor to the development of this program, Harold Sutherland Construction, Meridian Credit Union, the Kiwanis of Meaford and Centennial Windows.

This is the third season the Attack players have visited the schools with their message and each year the list of schools requesting visits increases.
