Atlético Ottawa Parts Ways with Winger Zach Verhoven

OTTAWA, ON - Atlético Ottawa has today confirmed that winger Zach Verhoven will not be returning to the club ahead of the 2024 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season. Atlético and Verhoven had remained in negotiations over a new deal since the 25-year-old's contract expired at the end of 2023, however, a deal could not be found and both parties agreed to part ways amicably.
Verhoven joined Atlético in 2021 and went on to make 65 appearances (all competitions) over three seasons. Notably, the BC native featured in the inaugural home match at TD Place against Halifax Wanderers and scored a crucial goal in the 2022 playoff semi-final away to his former side Pacific FC. Verhoven departs Ottawa with seven (7) goals and eight (8) assists.
