Atlético Ottawa Drops 0-3 to Forge FC
October 3, 2021 - Canadian Premier League (CPL)
Atletico Ottawa News Release
Atlético Ottawa returned home TD Place to host Forge FC on Sunday in the ComeOn! Match of the Week. It was an afternoon to forget for Atlético Ottawa who just couldn't find its second gear to get the advantage over the visitors, falling 0-3 to two-time league champions Forge FC.
MATCH NOTES
Despite the disappointing scoreline, Atlético Ottawa created a number of chances (13 open play crosses, 7 corners and 5 shots from inside the box), but unfortunately saw most of them erased by tight offside calls and last-minute clearances by Forge FC.
GK Dylon Powley made 6 saves on the afternoon, tying the league leader Jonathan Sirois with a total of 65 saves so far in his 20 matches played.
If not necessarily cause for celebration, Ottawa will be at least relieved to not have conceded a kick from the penalty mark today after awarding its opponents 11 in the last 20 matches.
TO COME THIS WEEK
Atlético Ottawa will bookend the long weekend with matches on the road, first to York United on Friday (KO 7:30PM ET) and then in Edmonton on Tuesday night (KO 9PM ET).
Atlético Ottawa's next home match will come on Wednesday, October 20 for Cricket's Big Night (details to follow).
