SURF ANTHEM TRYOUTS MOVED TO SUNDAY, APRIL 27 Originally scheduled for Saturday, April 26, the Surf will now be holding tryouts for national anthem performers on Saturday, April 27, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in front of the Nike Factory Store on The Walk, at 30 North Arkansas Avenue in Atlantic City.
Vocalists, as well as those with musical instruments, wanting to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a Surf game must try out on this date, including those who have performed in years past. Entries will be performed a capella and will be heard by a panel of judges.
Those familiar with the song are also encouraged to perform "O, Canada" at the tryouts for games against the Ottawa Rapids and the Quebec Capitales.
All entrants must sign up with the Surf front office in advance by contacting Kerry Pritchard at (609) 344-8873, ext. 103.
WLADYKA RETURNS TO ATLANTIC CITY The Surf have announced the signing of righthanded pitcher Jim Wladyka.
Wladyka (WAH-da-kah) begins his second stint with the Surf. In 2007, the native of Belleville, N.J., pitched one game with Atlantic City before being signed by the Kansas City Royals' organization. He was assigned to Single-A Burlington of the Midwest League, where he went 0-1 with two saves and a 5.96 ERA in 17 appearances.
Previously, the 24-year-old had spent two seasons in the New York Mets' organization, reaching as high as Single-A. As a rookie, Wladyka put together a 1.98 ERA to go along with a 2-2 record for Kingsport of the Appalachian League in 2005.
Wladyka was signed by the Mets as an undrafted free agent out of St. John's University, where he was 7-3 with a 3.20 ERA as a senior in the spring of 2005.
PRO WRESTLING AT BERNIE ROBBINS STADIUM MAY 10
The Surf will be hosting an East Coast Professional Wrestling event at Bernie Robbins Stadium on Saturday, May 10 at 8:00 p.m.
The show card will feature "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka (above) against The Masked Superstar; Justin Credible versus Spike Dudley; and a variety of other events, including a 20-man street fight battle royal.
Snuka, who wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) from 1982 to 1984 and 1989 to 1992, was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame in 1996. Justin Credible performed in WWF from 1993 to 1997, while The Masked Superstar, also known as Ax, was part of the Demolition tag team in the early 1990's.
Tickets will be available for the event starting Friday, April 11 at 12:00 p.m. at the Surf box office at Bernie Robbins Stadium, or by calling (609) 344-7873. Admission is $20 for ringside seats, $15 for lower box seats and $10 for upper box seats.

SURF TO HOST TWO ADDITIONAL HIGH SCHOOL GAMES
The Surf will be hosting two more high school baseball games at Bernie Robbins Stadium this spring.
On Friday, May 2, Egg Harbor Township will play Mainland at 7:00 p.m. The following evening, Bridgeton will face off against Sacred Heart, also at 7:00 p.m. Admission and parking at both games will be free of charge.
The two games are in addition to the Atlantic City-Holy Spirit matchup on Saturday, May 17. The Hammonton-St. Joe contest originally scheduled for Friday, May 16 has been postponed.
WIN A FORD FUSION AT THE SURF GOLF TOURNAMENT IN MAY! Join Surf players, coaches and staff at their best ball golf tournament on May 13, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Harbor Pines Golf Course. Anyone at the tournament hitting a hole-in-one will win a Ford Fusion, courtesy of Hammonton Ford!
The tournament will benefit FACES, which supports autism education and advocacy.
The price for the event is $175 per person or $600 per foursome, which includes a barbecue lunch and all golf fees. The afternoon also includes contests, awards for the winning team, and $10 mulligans.

OPENING NIGHT TO FEATURE AREA YOUTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL LEAGUES All area youth baseball and softball teams are invited to the Surf's home opener, on May 26 against the Ottawa Rapids at 6:35 p.m. Special group rates for youth teams are available, all players will be invited onto the field before the game for opening-day ceremonies, and all teams will be recognized over the P.A. system and the scoreboard. GET FREE APPETIZERS AT TAILGATERS WITH YOUR SURF TICKET IN 2008 Tailgaters Restaurant, at 337 West White Horse Pike in Galloway Township, is offering a free appetizer with the purchase of lunch for two when you show your ticket stub from any Surf home game this season. Tailgaters will also hosting a "Meet the Players" event on Wednesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m., with all Surf fans invited to meet the members of the 2008 Surf.
