Atlanta United 2 News Release

ATLANTA - Atlanta United 2 today announced that it has signed Academy midfielder Adyn Torres to an MLS NEXT Pro contract for the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval. Torres will become an Atlanta United Homegrown player effective Jan. 1, 2024.

Torres, 15, is an Atlanta native and joined the Atlanta United Academy in 2020 from Gwinnett Soccer Academy. The midfielder was named to the U-15 Best XI Team at the 2022 Generation adidas Cup last June where he helped Atlanta's U-15s advance to the semifinals.

"Adyn is a talented young player who has continued to progress throughout his time with our Academy," Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said. "We're excited for him to join ATL UTD 2 and compete in MLS NEXT Pro this season as he takes the next step in his development."

Torres earned his first call-up to the United States in January when he joined the U.S. Under-16 Men's Youth National Team for a training camp in Tampa, Florida.
