Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled reigning American Hockey League MVP DARREN HAYDAR from the Chicago Wolves.

HAYDAR - the first Wolves player recalled to the National Hockey League in 2007-08 - has been held scoreless in six career NHL outings, which includes four with the Thrashers last season. The 27-year-old forward was named the fifth team captain in Wolves history before notching an assist in the season opener against the Houston Aeros last Saturday.

The Milton, Ontario native received the AHL's highest individual honor last season after leading the league with a career-high 81 assists and 122 points and sharing third with a career-best 41 goals in 73 regular-season outings with Chicago last year.

HAYDAR, a member of the 2006-07 AHL First All-Star Team, registered a point in 39 straight games from Oct. 7, 2006 to Jan. 6, 2007, tied for the fourth-longest of its kind in professional hockey history. He accrued a total of 146 points last season (122 regular-season, 24 postseason), four shy of the highest combined point total in the AHL's 72 year history.

The Wolves (1-0-0-0) open their 40-game home schedule with a battle against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Allstate Arena on Saturday at 7 p.m. For ticket information, call 1-800-THE-WOLVES or log on to chicagowolves.com.
