Chicago Wolves News Release
The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled left wing JORDAN LaVALLEE (LAH-VALLEY), and reassigned right wing JOE MOTZKO (MAWTS-koh) to the Chicago Wolves.
LaVALLEE has tallied six goals in his last eight games to bring his total to 15 markers this season, which ranked first on the Wolves with MOTZKO in Atlanta. He has also amassed 23 points in 46 matchups with Chicago during his third professional campaign this year.
The 22-year-old forward, who has registered 51 goals, 99 points and 207 penalty minutes in 201 career regular-season American Hockey League contests with the Wolves (2006 to 2009), made his National Hockey League debut in two contests with Atlanta last season and tallied a goal and an assist.
MOTZKO recorded a goal and a +1 plus/minus rating in six games during his Thrashers debut, after being recalled from the Wolves on Jan. 30. Overall, the 28-year-old forward has notched four goals, two assists and six points in 25 career NHL matchups with the Washington Capitals, Columbus Blue Jackets and Thrashers, which includes recording NHL career-highs with two goals and four points in eight contests with the Capitals last season.
The Bemidji, Minn., native, who represented Chicago in the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic prior to his NHL recall, leads the Wolves and shares fourth in the AHL with 24 goals in 47 contests this season. He also leads Chicago and shares sixth in the league with 10 power-play tallies, and ranks second on the squad with 43 points.
MOTZKO will re-join the Wolves for this weekend's three-game road swing, beginning with a matchup against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center on Friday at 7 p.m.
