Atlanta Dream News Release

UNLUCKY BREAK

Dream forward/center Erika De Souza is expected to miss at least four weeks due to a low leg fracture suffered in the Dream's May 27 game versus the Washington Mystics. The injury will not require surgery. Prior to her injury, De Souza was among the top rebounders in the league, averaging 9 rebounds per game. She pulled down a league-high 18 rebounds in her Dream debut, shattering her previous career high of 9 rebounds.

RAINING THREES

Dream guard Betty Lennox hit a career-high six three pointers, en route to a 29-point performance against the Washington Mystics on Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Lennox was 6-7 from beyond the arc, but it wasn't enough for the Dream in an 80-74 loss. Lennox is shooting 54.5% from three on the season.

TOP ROOKIES IN TOWN

Having faced off already against No. 1 draft pick Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks, the Dream will now go against two more top rookies. On Tuesday, June 3, the Dream will host Candice Wiggins (third pick overall) and the Minnesota Lynx at 7 pm at Philips Arena. On Friday, June 6, Sylvia Fowles (second overall pick) and the Chicago Sky come to town for a 7:30 pm matchup.

DREAM "GO RED" FOR WOMEN

In partnership with the American Heart Association, the Dream will host a "Go Red for Women" night at Philips Arena on June 3, 2008 vs. the Minnesota Lynx at 7 pm. The Go Red campaign is designed to increase awareness of heart disease and encourage women to take action to reduce their own personal risk. Dream fans can sign up online now to receive discounted tickets in the "Go Red" cheering section and all fans are encouraged to wear red to the game in support of this initiative.
