ATLANTA, February 26, 2010 - The Atlanta Dream honored Mill Creek High School in Gwinnett County as the Team of the Week, in a partnership with WXIA's "Operation Basketball." Atlanta Dream Head Coach Marynell Meadors, the 2009 WNBA Coach of the Year, presented the Lady Hawks with the award at practice this week.

The Lady Hawks, the 7-A Champions, are 24-4 this season under Head Coach Ashley Phillips. Mill Creek is led by senior post players Moneshia Simmons and Jac Weathers. Simmons, a 6-foot forward/center, averages a double-double and has signed with Clemson University to play volleyball next year. The Lady Hawks state championship run begins this Saturday against Alpharetta.

The Team of the Week program is part of WXIA's "Operation Basketball," which honors boys and girls basketball teams throughout the metro Atlanta area. The show airs each Friday night during the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscast on WXIA.

The Dream tips off its third season this summer at Philips Arena, with the home opener slated for May 16 against the Indiana Fever at 7 pm.
