Orangeville A's News Release
BRAMPTON, On. - The Brampton A's concluded the second contest of its back-to-back home stint Friday night against the London Lightning. The A's fell 112-107 to the Lightning setting the team to 12-12 on the season.
After controlling three quarters of the first half, the A's were met with a London run that set the tone for the rest of the game. Brampton ended the first half shooting 42-percent from three-point range as the A's headed to the locker room down 58-52.
Kyle Johnson led the A's with 11 points at the half while former A's standout, Brent Jennings, led London with 20 points.
The A's were challenged by an energized Lightning team that made it difficult for the A's to overcome their once 17 point deficit. Despite going on a run in the last period, after a few key three-pointers by Richard Amardi, the A's could not find an answer for London. Akeem Ellis led the way for the A's with 21 points off of 7-of-12 shooting from the field, while Amardi recorded 20 points. Akeem Scott concluded the battle with a game-high seven assists. Jennings led all scorers with 33 points for the Lightning.
The A's will head out east next week to take on the Mill Rats and Rainmen. The A's will return home to host the Mississauga Power on Sunday, February 15th for an afternoon game. For tickets please visit www.bramptonas.ca.
