Ottawa 67's News Release

OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's will get a local boost this weekend with the news that prospect and Arnprior native Jesse Dick has committed to the club and is set to make his OHL debut.

The 17-year-old forward was selected sixth overall in this year's OHL U18 Priority Selection Draft. He has suited up for 28 games with the Junior A Kemptville 73's this year, scoring nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points.

He caught the eye of the 67's after putting up 30 goals and 60 points in 39 games for the Pembroke Lumber Kings Midget AAA last year.

"Jesse is a skilled player who put up 60 points in 39 games of Midget hockey last season playing for 67's Alumnus Jerrett DeFazio," said 67's General Manager James Boyd. "Jesse has continued to impress this season in the CCHL with the Kemptville 73's and we are happy that he has committed to the 67's to continue his development. We welcome Jesse to the lineup this weekend."

Dick is expected to be in the lineup Friday night when the 67's kick off their quest for the Alexandra Cup with a home-and-home series against the Gatineau Olympiques, starting Friday night at the Robert Guertin Centre. The re-match goes the next afternoon at The Arena at TD Place at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the game in Ottawa on December 8th are on sale at ottawa67s.com or at TD Place's Box Office. Alumni for both teams will hit the ice for a game before Saturday's main event between the junior clubs. Tickets for the December 7th game in Gatineau, are available at www.ovation.qc.ca or at the Robert Guertin Centre.
