North Texas Fresh News Release
FORT WORTH - Arlington Bulldogs versus North Texas Fresh battle will end with the Fresh winning their 2nd and final match against the new ABA Travel Team. The Fresh came into the match very confident as the Bulldogs team consisted of Ex - North Texas Fresh players who either were replaced or didn't pan out as a Fresh player.
Josh Washington and Carzel "Moose" Wynn made sure the Bulldogs remained winless by torching the Bulldogs team with 44 points combined. Washington's damage came all in the first half as he hit an amazing 5 3 - point baskets. Seeing the game was in double digits favoring the Fresh, Owner and Player/Coach Jay Bowdy decided to rest Washington for the remainder of the game.
With the Bulldogs fighting to make a late run in the 4th quarter, Moose Wynn closed the curtain on the Bulldogs light hitting 16 points in the fourth quarter. "We didn't play our best basketball but I will take the win." stated Bowdy, Owner of the Fresh. "We have to learn to be better defensively as we head into the playoffs."
North Texas Fresh have clinched playoff berth with the win versus the Bulldogs and look to continue their win streak with a big game against the Oklahoma Impact on Thursday, February 18th at W.G. Thomas Coliseum. "We are going to try and play all the toughest teams we can possibly play." stated Bowdy. "We have to get ready to battle against some of the top teams in the ABA and the only way to get ready is to play against some tough talented teams."
The Fresh battle against the Impact at 7 p.m. on Thursday and have invited an array of Birdville ISD and HEB ISD students to W.G. Thomas Coliseum. Two students of Hurst Junior High School have been picked to enjoy the game on the sidelines with the North Texas Fresh. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m for the General public.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
