
Arizona United SC Signs Three More Players Ahead of Season Opener

PHOENIX (March 23, 2016) Arizona United SC - Today, Arizona United Soccer Club announced the signings of three more players: defender Nick Costa, forward Freddy Ruiz, and goalkeeper Jordan Stagmiller.
Stagmiller is an Avondale, Arizona, native who is entering his first season as a professional soccer player. He's spent the last four years playing for St. John's University. Prior to that, Stagmiller was a Desert Valley Region Player of the Year and a first team All-Arizona and All-State 5A player for North Canyon High School. He also played his club soccer with Sereno Soccer Club, where his team (Sereno 93 White) won three Arizona State titles. He becomes the third Arizona native, joining Tony Cascio and Blair Gavin, to sign with the club this season.
Ruiz is also entering his first season as a professional. He played his college soccer at UAB (the alma mater of Arizona United goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski) where he was the 2014 Conference USA Co-Offensive Player of the Year. Last season, Ruiz was an All-Conference USA Second Team selection after scoring five goals and dishing out four assists in 16 matches.
Costa comes to the team from NPSL side New York Cosmos B. Before that, he was a three-year starter at Adelphi University
Arizona United now has 20 players signed heading into the first week of the 2016 season. Arizona United's USL home opener will be on Saturday, April 30, against Portland Timbers 2. The 2016 season kicks off this Saturday, March 26, at Los Angeles Galaxy II.
