Arizona Rattlers News Release

MESA, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers have signed WR SIAHA BURLEY (5-10, 185, Central Florida), Head Coach KEVIN GUY announced this afternoon.

It is something of a homecoming for Burley, who lives locally in Arizona. He has had two previous stints with the Rattlers, and also played for DANNY WHITE for two seasons with the Utah Blaze.

"It's just a perfect fit for both sides," said Guy of his newest acquisition. "Siaha's a competitor and wants to be on the field. He played for me (in 2008) and with Danny in Utah. It really is just a perfect fit."

Burley led the 2008 Rattlers in receptions (133) and receiving touchdowns (33) despite missing three games and part of another early that season. He also enjoyed a record-setting year in 2007, shattering league records for receptions (166) and receiving yards (2,129), while also scoring 49 touchdowns. Burley has averaged over 100 catches a season and hasn't had less than that since 2003. He has averaged well over 40 touchdowns over the last four AFL seasons and has posted at least 1,000 yards in six of his eight years in the Arena League.

In all, Burley is one of the most decorated players in league history. He has won a litany of awards, including the 2007 Offensive Player of the Year and the 2005 AFLWA Player of the Year. Burley has also been named to three All-Arena squads and the All-Rookie team in 2001.

Burley and the rest of the Rattlers return to the US Airways Center this Friday, May 7 when new West Division rival Spokane Shock comes to town. Kickoff for the Spokane match-up is at 7:30pm.
