Chicago Nabs Top Spot In Week 5 Coaches Poll

May 5, 2010 - Arena Football League (AFL) News Release

TULSA - The Chicago Rush remain at the top of the Coaches Poll for the third week in a row. The Rush have been ranked No. 1 four out of the five weeks that coaches polls have taken place. Tulsa was top-ranked in Week 2.

It wasn't so much what the Rush did last weekend as what the other top-ranked teams didn't do-win. Four of last week's top five tallied losses, but the Rush were on a bye. The Milwaukee Iron earned their first loss of the season, dropping from No. 2 to No. 3. Their opponent, the Alabama Vipers, took their place at No. 2. The Vipers had the highest climb of the week after being ranked No. 8 last week.

The Spokane Shock dropped the most, falling five spaces to No. 8 after losing at the last second to Cleveland. Week 6 action sees the undefeated Rush taking on the 3-1 Iron in Milwaukee. Chicago, Milwaukee, Alabama and Jacksonville are the only teams above .500 on the season.
