Arizona Rattlers News Release
Phoenix, Ariz. - With Philadelphia Soul's loss to the Baltimore Brigade in Friday night's semi-final game, The Arizona Rattlers and the Detroit Drive are still the only two teams in the history of the Arena Football League (AFL) to win three straight championships. Head Coach Tim Marcum led the Drive, and General Manager and Head Coach Kevin Guy helmed the Rattlers. Guy is the only head coach in league history to lead his team to four straight ArenaBowls (2011-14).
Marcum led the Detroit Drive to win its first three championships from 1991-93. Guy led the Rattlers to win three-straight from 2012-14. Guy went on to win another championship in the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2017.
The Philadelphia Soul had a chance this season, after winning two straight in 2016 and 2017 but fell short after losing to the Brigade Friday night by a score of 57-45.
