SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (July 24, 2015) - Arizona United SC returns home after a two-match road trip to face Austin Aztex on Saturday, July 25, at Scottsdale Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., and gates are set to open at 6:30 p.m. Parking around Scottsdale Stadium is free.
Arizona (7-9-1) enter Saturday's match coming off a 4-1 loss to Austin (6-9-3) on July 17. Returning home with another opportunity against the Aztex has been a focal point for the club at training.
"We just faced (Austin Aztex) so we know where the danger spots were, and that's the frustrating thing about our performance," said United captain Rob Valentino. "We're just trying to address some issues and make sure we correct them this Saturday."
Arizona sits at 9th place in the Western Conference with 22 points, three places out of a playoff spot. The two clubs have already played each other three times, with Arizona holding a 2-1-0 edge in the season series. Saturday's match will be the final meeting between the teams.
The last time Austin traveled to Scottsdale, Arizona fell behind 2-0, before scoring three unanswered goals in a 3-2 win. Forward Brad Stisser opened the team's scoring with a goal off a penalty kick. Then forward Long Tan scored a brace to seal the win.
Tan leads the team in scoring with eight goals (while adding an assist). Following Tan is forward Jonathan Top who has three goals and two assists in 2015.
Austin is led by forward Trevin Caesar who has seven goals this season. Second on the team is forward Kris Tyrpak who has six goals and one assist. Austin is in 11th place in the Western Conference with 21 points.
