Hammerheads Prepare for Louisville City FC
July 24, 2015 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release
Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC is scheduled to welcome Louisville City FC to Legion Stadium on Saturday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
Wilmington last encountered Louisville on the back end of a two-game road trip in early May. The Hammerheads fell 3-0 at Louisville Slugger Field as they tried to rebound just days after a 1-0 defeat against Saint Louis FC.
"We see a great opportunity in our game on Saturday," said Wilmington Hammerheads FC Technical Director and Head Coach Carson Porter. "Our staff rates Louisville very highly as one of, if not the best team we have played this year. A good team coming to Legion means a great opportunity. At home we feel like every game is a 'must win' and are approaching our training week and preparations accordingly."
Louisville (9-3-5) currently ranks as one of the top three teams in the eastern conference competition. City recently grabbed a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds last weekend as Matt Fondy tallied his eleventh goal of the season alongside Magnus Rasmussen who notched his seventh goal.
The Hammerheads enter Saturday's match following a 1-0 downfall versus the Charleston Battery the weekend before at Blackbaud Stadium after coming off a bye weekend in the schedule. Wilmington (2-10-6) is currently on a four-game scoring drought as they look to find the back of the net.
Wilmington is scheduled to travel north to take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds for their next match on Saturday, August 1 at Highmark Stadium. Wilmington will return to Legion Stadium to host New York Red Bulls II on Saturday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Flex packages and single tickets are available for purchase online.
