Toronto Argonauts News Release
Toronto - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is reaching out to its young fans through a new, multi-faceted youth initiative entitled "Generation A". Targetting the under 16 crowd, and complete with a Kids Free Zone in-stadium, Generation A will engage youth in programs designed just for them, in a manner which appeals to them, ultimately creating tomorrow's generation of Double Blue supporters.
Kids will find a team that is all theirs when they join the Generation A Club or the Generation A Cheerleaders. Both programs offer unique and active game day experiences, as well as some hip Argos gear. Before heading into the game, youth can visit the Generation A Zone outside of Gate 11 at Rogers Centre. With bands, interactive events, games and fun all their own, the Generation A Zone is the place to be.
It gets even better for the parents of Generation A youth. The Toronto Argonauts are launching a Kids Free Zone new to 2008. In two special 100 level sections, kids under 16 will receive a free ticket with the purchase of a $50 adult ticket. Argos football remains top entertainment family value and is committed to making the game day experience fun for the whole family.
The flagship program of the Generation A initiative is Argo Recess, a new in-school program designed to engage elementary school students in football, sports and physical activity through a unique recess experience where Argos Players and Cheerleaders, as well as Jason the Argos mascot, surprise students at their recess. During an extended 25 minute recess, Argos Players will interact with the students, getting them involved in drills and inflatable skill zones. 13 Argo Recesses have already confirmed beginning next week (dates and times available to media upon request). More Argo Recesses will be scheduled in the Fall.
Tune in for more Generation A programs in 2008!
