SAINT JOHN, Sept. 27, 2006 - The region's major junior hockey teams have announced a program that encourages attending games in each others' venues during the 2006-07 season.
Known as the "Ambassador Program", the initiative gives season ticket holders an opportunity to purchase up to two tickets to a regular season game in an out-of-town Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) community for only $10.
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, Halifax Mooseheads, Lewiston MAINEiacs, Moncton Wildcats, Saint John Sea Dogs, St. John's Fog Devils and PEI Rocket are participating in the program.
"We value our season ticket holders and recognize they are a critical backbone of support," said David Turk, executive director of the Sea Dogs. "This loyalty program is yet another way of rewarding them for their commitment to Sea Dogs hockey."
Turk noted that players appreciate having support from their fans when on the road. "Hopefully this loyalty program will encourage more of our fans to visit other arenas to cheer on the Sea Dogs."
Season ticket holders who wish to participate in the loyalty program can arrange for a special Ambassador Program voucher by calling the Sea Dogs at 657-DOGS (3647) or visiting their office on the 2nd floor of Harbour Station.
The Sea Dogs next home game is this coming Saturday at 7 p.m. when they entertain the 2006 QMJHL champions, Moncton Wildcats. It took overtime to decide a winner when the Sea Dogs last battled Moncton at Harbour Station on Sept. 17.
