
Araujo Tosses Six Shutout as Raptors Break Skid

OGDEN - Ogden Raptors starting pitcher Victor Araujo shutout the Idaho Falls Chukars for six innings to end a season-long five-game losing streak with an 8-1 win Friday night at Lindquist Field.
The right-hander allowed just six hits and struck out eight for his fifth win.
James Baune pitched the next two innings and gave up one run on two hits with two strikeouts. The run ended Baune's scoreless innings streak at 14.2 innings, a Raptors season-high.
Jose Diaz struck out the side in the ninth to close out the game.
The Raptors jumped out to a lead with three runs in the first inning. The Raptors hit five singles in the first with Joey Curletta, Justin Chigbogu and Austin Cowen providing the RBI for a 3-0 lead.
Curletta hit three singles on Friday with two driving in runs.
Jacob Scavuzzo and Chigbogu had the only extra-base hits for Ogden with doubles as Scavuzzo joined Curletta with three hits.
The Raptors will welcome in the Grand Junction Rockies for the final series of the season, a two-game set, starting Saturday. Jose De Leon takes the mound for Ogden against Alex Balog. Game starts at 7:00 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
