AquaSox Bounce Back, 9-2
HILLSBORO, Oregon- The Everett AquaSox (23-15) ended a two game losing streak with a victory over the Vancouver Canadians (23-17), 9-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Solid starting pitching performances by the AquaSox' Levi Stoudt and Canadians' Luis Quinones kept the game scoreless until the Frogs put themselves on the board in the top of the fourth. Jack Larsen's bases-loaded walk scored Jake Anchia for the game's first run. Kaden Polcovich scored on a wild pitch putting the 'Sox ahead, 2-0. The Canadians answered in the bottom of the fourth when Cameron Eden scored on a Tanner Morris groundout.
The AquaSox pulled away with four more runs in the fifth inning, scoring all with one out. Anchia picked up an RBI with a single that drove in Joseph Rosa; Anchia scored two batters later on a Polcovich single, giving the 'Sox a 4-1 lead. The AquaSox weren't done yet; Patrick Frick capped off the inning with a two-run single, scoring Cody Grosse and Polcovich.
The score remained 6-1 until the top of the eighth inning; Tyler Keenan belted a three-run home run directly over the left field foul pole with Frick and Carter Bins on base. Canadians outfielder Eric Rivera scored the final run of the game in the eighth inning on an Eden sacrifice fly putting the final score at 9-2.
