Another Sell Out at Avista Stadium

SPOKANE, WA - The Spokane Indians were defeated 6-4 Friday night by the Yakima Bears in front of a standing room only crowd of 6,855 fans at Avista Stadium. The Indians have now sold out four games this season.

The Indians went down early in the top of the third, where Yakima scored three runs. The Bears added three more in the 8th, but the Indians responded with three of their own in their 8th frame on a three run home run by third baseman Justin Pickett. The Indians scored one more in the 9th on an Eric Fry solo shot, but were unable to tie up the game.

Spokane was hampered by sloppy defense with five errors on the night, three by third baseman Justin Pickett.

Pickett finished the game 1 for 4 with one home run and three RBI. Fry ended the night 3 for 5 with one home run and one RBI.

Indians starter Carlos Pimentel picked up the loss, going 3.2 innings and giving up three runs on five hits.

The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow for the finale of the three game homestand against Yakima. Tomorrow is Fireworks Night presented by the The Spokesman-Review and is SOLD OUT.
