Another OT Win For The Lancers At Home

For the third straight time, the Lancers claimed an overtime victory at home, coming back from 2-0 down for a 3-2 victory on Friday, March 23rd at the Mid America Center.

Brett Bruneteau was the hero, scoring the game-winning goal into the upper right corner of the net at 4:21 of the overtime period. His goal was assisted by Jake Marto and Andrew Conboy.

Sioux Falls opened the game with two first-period goals, one on the power play by Corey Tropp and the second from Zach Redmond, which made the score 2-0 Stampede at 15;31 of the first period.

But, the Lancers answered with a power play goal from Andrew Conboy at 19:07 of the first frame to cut the margin to 2-1 Sioux Falls at the first intermission. Marto and Mark Olver assisted on Conboy's 21st goal of the season and his ninth power play goal.

There was no scoring in the second period and it wasn't until the 15:42 mark of the third period that the Lancers tied the game on a goal from Travis Novak, assisted Barry Almeida and Matt Thurber, The goal from Novak was his seventh of the year.

On the power play, the Lancers went 1-for-8 with Sioux Falls ending up 1-for-5 with the man advantage. On the shot clock, the Lancers outshot the Stampede 31-22, holding Sioux Falls to one shot on goal the entire second period of play.

Michal Valent was the winning goaltender (7-0-1) with a 20-save effort, while Matt Lundin took the loss for Sioux Falls, stopping 28 shots on net.
