Annual "Jacks Fight Cancer" Game Arrives this Saturday Evening

MUSKEGON, Michigan (January 21st) - For this Saturday night's game against the USNTDP Under-18 Team at 7:15 pm, the Muskegon Lumberjacks will be hosting their annual "Jacks Fight Cancer" game presented by Mercy Health with proceeds from the event benefitting the Johnson Family Cancer Center in Muskegon.

There are numerous ways in which fans can contribute to this important cause before and during the game beginning when they walk in as each person will receive a free purple ribbon pin upon entrance into the arena, and the first 250 fans that enter through the doors will receive hockey puck binoculars courtesy of Mercy Health.

Also, for just $1, fans can purchase a purple ribbon care card that are available at the Box Office in which they can fill out their names on the card and have it displayed above the Box Office windows. Fans can also show their support for the cause by purchasing a limited-edition "Jacks Fight Cancer" lavender t-shirt for $11 available this week at the Sawmill.

The Lumberjacks will also be honoring and playing in memory of loved ones whose lives have been affected by cancer, and for $150, fans can have a Lumberjack play in honor or in memory of a loved one that will be presented during an extended starting lineup with their names presented on the video board including a replica jersey.

Additionally, fans can have their loved one recognized in our special Lumberjacks lavender program insert for just $25.

Following the game, there will be a live postgame auction of the game-worn lavender "Jacks Fight Cancer" player jerseys starting at $200 in the Beer Garden.

Glamazon Artistic Hair Culture will also be on hand during the event in the Beer Garden giving free haircuts to those who wish to donate their healthy hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a program that will in turn use the hair to help provide free wigs to women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

Along with Glamazon Artistic Hair Culture, there will also be a number of other groups on hand located throughout the concourse in the American Cancer Society, Sandy Corley Memorial Run, Johnson Family Cancer Center, and Relay for Life.

In addition, Mercy Health workers will be able to get into Saturday's game for $8 when they show their valid Mercy Health I.D. at the L.C. Walker Arena Box Office.

The Lumberjacks return to home ice for the first time in nearly a month for a pair of games this Friday and Saturday against the U.S. National Development Program at 7:15 pm, respectively.

Friday's game against the Under-17 Team will feature the second and final trading card giveaway of the season along with the return of our "Jacks Win You Win" promotion. If the Lumberjacks win on Friday, every fan in attendance will receive a $5 Sport Clips gift card.

Saturday's game against the Under-18 Team will feature our annual "Jacks Fight Cancer" Game presented by Mercy Health. Fans can contribute to the event in numerous ways in which proceeds will be donated to the Johnson Family Cancer Center, and more information can be found on the Lumberjacks' Facebook page by searching "Muskegon Lumberjacks." Additionally, our "Subway Saturday" promotion returns, where if the Lumberjacks win on Saturday, fans that attend the game can present their ticket stubs at any participating West Michigan Subway location for a buy one six-inch sub, get another six-inch sub of equal or lesser value for free.

Individual game tickets will be on sale for the next pair of home games all this week for the low price of $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 3-12 if they are purchased before the day of the game. Tickets can be purchased at the Lumberjacks' Box Office or by calling (231) 724-5225.
