Announcing ... Christmas at Clipper Magazine Stadium

November 1, 2018 - Atlantic League (AtL) - Lancaster Stormers News Release

The boys of summer have gone. Enter the main man of winter.

Santa Claus and his elves will be paying visits to Clipper Magazine Stadium throughout the upcoming holiday season as the Prince Street facility will be fully decked out in its winter best.

Beginning on Saturday, November 24 and continuing through New Year's Eve, the home of baseball's Lancaster Barnstormers will be truly transformed into a winter wonderland during the winter extravaganza sponsored by Faulkner Infiniti of Mechanicsburg.

The Christmas Spirit Light Show will be a spectacle to behold. With hundreds of thousands of color changing lights, this drive-through journey will surround you as you make your way around the stadium parking lot and onto the warning track. These lights will be choreographed with your favorite Christmas carols to bring a multi-sensory experience like none other. The light show will be open to the public Tuesday through Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 and Friday through Sunday from 5:30 until 10:30 during the holiday season with special Monday showings on Christmas and New Year's Eves.

On the concourse, which will be open on weekends from Friday, November 30 through Sunday, December 23, there will be plenty of excitement for all the kids, as the song says, from one to 92. There will be holiday-themed food and beverage stands open. Choral performances will get everyone in the holiday mood. Holiday craft stations will dot the concourse, and a Christmas Tree Lane will be displayed for the public to judge. Of course, what Christmas season would be complete without a chance to visit with old St. Nick and his team of toymakers? The visiting team from the North Pole will be on hand to see Cylo and the rest of their Lancaster friends.

Another feature of this holiday extravaganza is a tree-decorating contest. All area businesses and organizations are invited to participate in the event by choosing a tree at the stadium and decorate it with LED lights and hanging decorations to represent the organization to its fullest. Winners will be judged by patrons to the stadium with a cash prize of $5,000 being donated to the charity of choice of the contest winner. Second and third place finishes will be awarded as well. However, every tree will have the opportunity to earn money for its associated non-profit organization by attracting votes from the public for the donation of $1.00 each.

Entries must be submitted by November 19, and the trees must be decorated during the November 27-29 time frame with a special lighting ceremony scheduled the evening of the 29. The display will be a part of the concourse festivities beginning on November 30 with the winning trees being named on December 23.

Additional contest rules and exact times for the Holiday shows are available through our website. Visit the Events tab for more information.
