Angels Recall Bell, Option Quinlan To Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Trevor Bell from Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned infielder Robb Quinlan to Salt Lake.

Bell, 23, has appeared in three games (all starts) for the Bees in 2010, owning a 1-0 record with a 2.04 ERA and nine strikeouts. He began the season on the Disabled List with a left hamstring injury suffered during spring training. In 2009, he appeared in 11 games (all starts) for Salt Lake, owning a 3-4 record with a 3.15 ERA and 38 strikeouts. He made his major league debut with the Angels on August 12, 2009 and appeared in eight games (four starts) for the Halos last season. The North Hollywood, Calif. native was originally selected by the Angels in the first round of the 2005 draft.

Quinlan, 33, has appeared in five games with the Angels in 2010. He has also appeared in eight games for the Bees this season, hitting .219 with one RBI. In 54 games for the Angels in 2009, he hit .243 with five doubles, two homeruns and 14 RBI. The St. Paul, Minn. native spent parts of four seasons with Salt Lake from 2002-2005, posting a .324 average with 64 doubles, 32 homeruns and 201 RBI in 273 games.

The 15-15 Salt Lake Bees concluded an eight-game road trip today and return home tomorrow night to begin an eight-game homestand against the Round Rock Express at 6:35 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
