Angel City FC News Release
LOS ANGELES - Angel City Football Club (ACFC) will participate in the new NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup, kicking off the weekend of July 19 and running through August 4 during the NWSL's regular season summer break. The tournament will feature all 14 NWSL clubs and the top six LIGA MX Femenil teams from México, with Angel City participating in group stage matches against Club América, San Diego Wave FC, and Bay FC.
ACFC will play two matches at Titan Stadium at California State University Fullerton - Saturday, July 20 against Club América, and Thursday, August 1 against San Diego Wave FC. The club will also play at Bay FC on Friday, July 26.
Titan Stadium holds a special place in ACFC history as the club debuted there during the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup.
"Playing in the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup at Titan Stadium, where Angel City's journey began, is a full circle moment for us," said Julie Uhrman, President and Co-Founder, Angel City Football Club. "Through this tournament, we look forward to facing our California rivals, hosting Club América for a second time, continuing the momentum of our season, and growing the game we love."
The 33-match tournament, in which NWSL teams will face Tigres UANL, Club America, Chivas de Guadalajara, Rayadas de Monterrey, Pachuca and Tijuana, will consist of 30 group stage contests, followed by a four-team semifinal round slated for the week of August 4. The championship match will take place the weekend of October 25.
Tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks, with Season Ticket Members getting first priority.
