(Windsor) Spitfires centre Andrei Loktionov is the Windsor Spitfires Player of the Week as selected by the team's coaching staff for the week ending Sunday, March 1st. Loktionov scored three goals and registered four assists for seven points as well as a plus-3 plus-minus rating in three games played last week, leading the Spitfires to a 2-1 record.

On Thursday, Loktionov recorded two assists in Windsor's 5-2 win over the Kitchener Rangers. The next night, he scored a goal in Windsor's 4-2 loss to the Sarnia Sting. He finished the week with a four-point game, on a two-goal, two-assist performance as he was named the first star of the Spitfires' 8-2 win over the Saginaw Spirit yesterday.

The 18 year-old Voskresensk, Russia native was selected by the Spitfires with the seventh overall pick in the 2008 CHL Import Draft and he was also drafted by the NHL's Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft in Ottawa, Ontario. He is currently ranked third in the OHL rookie scoring race with 20 goals and 39 assists for 59 points in 46 games played this season.

The CHL's top-ranked team will play their next home game at the WFCU Centre on Thursday, March 5th against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
