Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release
Mississauga, ON - Mississauga St. Michael's Majors goaltender JP Anderson has been called up by the San Jose Sharks on an emergency basis. Anderson, 18, went undrafted in the NHL Entry Draft this past spring. He was invited to San Jose Sharks camp and signed with them in September.
Anderson is in his third season with the Majors. Through 30 games this year, he has allowed 65 goals and has an impressive won-loss record of 22-5-0-1. He has a 0.915 save percentage and his 2.29 goals against average is good enough for second in the Ontario Hockey League.
JP will be in uniform for the Sharks when the team faces the Minnesota Wild on Saturday, January 22. The Sharks will then travel to Los Angeles to face the Kings next Wednesday.
The Majors have called up Taylor Edwards from the London Nationals. He will be in uniform tonight for Mississauga and will wear number 30.
