Alexandria, Minn. - The Alexandria Blue Anchors dominated at home Friday night against Mankato Moondogs, winning by a final score of 8-2.

It was a pitchers duel early at Knute Nelson between Alexandria's Jason Zgardowski and Mankato's Dillon Williams as the first run wouldn't score until the bottom of the fourth as Dalton Leuschke knocked in run number one on an RBI groundout.

Zgardowski would continue to pitch lights out, and in the sixth inning, the Anchors would bust the game wide open by scoring a whopping seven runs. The first two runs would be scored thanks to RBI singles from Dalton Leuschke and Cam Duzenack. Following those hits would be a base clearing triple by Jordan Lee that rung in three more. James McMahon would come in and relieve for the laboring Garret Ring. McMahon surrendered a two RBI double to Craig Nennig and would exit the inning with him and his teammates now trailing 8-0.

In the eighth inning, the Moondogs would at least prevent the shutout with a two RBI single from Derek Umphries, however, Aaron Rozek would strike out the side in the ninth to finalize the 8-2 win.
