Anchorage Wolverines Leave Ice with Clean Sweep
April 7, 2024 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Anchorage Wolverines News Release
The Anchorage Wolverines completed their last regular season home games with a clean sweep after a 5-1 wash against the Janesville Jets.
Kade Shea, Tyler Hennen and Cole Christian all netted a single goal throughout the contest. Arvega Hovsepyan bagged two of his own, one just eight seconds before Christians' and his second coming 27 seconds into the final period.
Christian also had a big night, grabbing a Gordie Howe hat trick after assisting in Shea's goal, scoring in the 15th minute, and then receiving a fighting penalty that ended his night on the ice.
The Jets ruined Beerman's chance of a shutout, sniping their only goal two minutes into the final frame.
Down in the states, the Wisconsin Windigo took their game from the Chippewa Steel, keeping the tie for first alive.
Anchorage and Wisconsin both sit with 39 points and 84 wins with Anchorage still having two games in hand.
The Anchorage Wolverines will finish regular season next weekend in Fairbanks with two 7:30pm puck drops on Friday and Saturday.
