Anchorage Wolverines News Release
The Anchorage Wolverines will play the Kenai River Brown Bears for the first time this season, Friday at home at the Ben Boeke Ice Arena and Saturday on the road in Soldotna. Last season, Anchorage boasted a record of 7-2-3 against the Brown Bears, with a record of 4-1-1 at home.
The Wolverines come into the weekend well rested, thanks to a week off in Anchorage following their most-recent series against Janesville on the road. They have eight points currently in the Midwest division standings, and sit two points back of Kenai River with two fewer games played on the year. Bryce Monrean will be a key player to watch, as he takes on the team that he spent the past two seasons with. Currently, Monrean has six points in his seven games played with Anchorage.
As will be the case with all games that the Wolverines play against the Brown Bears this season, both teams will play one home game and one game on the road during this upcoming weekend. Friday night will be Anchorage's home-opener, with puck drop occurring at 7 p.m. AKDT at the Ben.
