Anaheim Storm News Release

Anaheim, CA (February 8, 2004) - The Anaheim Storm (0-4) faced the number two team in the Western Division on Sunday with a new coaching staff and hope for a new ending. As the time ticked away, everyone wondered if they would again see an overtime game in Anaheim. Chris Seller (3G) tied the game 13-13, with 2:50 remaining in the fourth quarter. After taking it down to the last minute and 14 seconds, Lewis Ratcliff (3G, 2A) scored the game winning goal for the Roughnecks.

"I was pleased with the effort on the field but disappointed with the results," said Patrick McCabe, the new head coach for the Anaheim Storm. "We will watch the film and see what adjustments need to be made before the game against Buffalo next weekend."

The Storm's 13 points came from seven different players including three from each Chris Panos (3G) and Chris Seller. Roy Colsey (2G, 1A) and Scott Stewart (2G, 2A), Storm veterans, each scored two apiece. Richard Morgan (1G), Marc Morley (1G) and Casey Powell (1G, 5A) each contributed one goal.

The Roughnecks were led by Lewis Ratcliff and Tracey Kelusky (3G, 1A). Both Colorado (5-2) and San Jose (4-2) won their respective games, keeping Calgary in a tie for 2nd place in the Western Division with San Jose.

The Anaheim Storm will play their first road game on Saturday, February 14th, against the Buffalo Bandits (4-2) who currently lead the Eastern Division.
