Anaheim Ducks Sign Left Wing J.F. Jacques

Syracuse, NY (July 6, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have signed left wing J.F. Jacques to a one-year contract. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jacques, 26, appeared in 51 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season, collecting five points (4g, 1a) and 63 penalty minutes. He also skated in four games with Oklahoma City last year, notching one goal and 15 penalty minutes.

A native of Terrebonne, Quebec, Jacques has appeared in 160 career NHL games since the 2005-06 season, tallying 17 points (9g, 8a) and 185 penalty minutes. In addition, the 6-4, 217-pound Jacques has skated in 150 career AHL games with Edmonton (Roadrunners), Hamilton, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Springfield and Oklahoma City, recording 103 points (47g, 56a) and 280 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, Jacques spent four seasons with Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2001-05, registering 179 points (83g, 92a) and 385 penalty minutes in 261 career games. He was selected by Edmonton in the second round, 68th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
