IceHogs Home Opener Set for October 8

Rockford, Ill. - Hockey returns to the Forest City on Saturday, Oct. 8 as the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League take the MetroCentre ice for their home opener for the 2011-12 season.
Additionally, the IceHogs have announced five other prime dates for their 13th season in Rockford and fifth in the AHL. The Hogs will host games on Saturday, Nov. 12; Wednesday, Nov. 23; Saturday, Dec. 3; Saturday, Dec. 17; and Friday Jan. 20.
Fans can guarantee their seat for opening night and the other five contests with a Six-Game Prime Pack in 2011-12, starting as low as $72. For more information about Six-Game Prime Packs, call the IceHogs office at (815)847-6399.
The IceHogs dropped the first puck at the Rockford MetroCentre on Oct. 15, 1999 as members of the United Hockey League and defeated the Knoxville Speed 6-2. The Hogs show an overall record of 6-5-0-1 in their home opener.
Opponents and start times for these games will become available when the complete 2011-12 AHL schedule is released later this summer.
