Anaheim Arsenal Host Local Player Tryouts
Anaheim, CA, October 10, 2008 - The Anaheim Arsenal held their 3rd annual local player tryouts this past Saturday and Sunday at the American Sports Center in Anaheim, CA. Players with college and professional experience competed for an invitation to the Arsenal training camp in November.
On Saturday, Arsenal Head Coach Sam Vincent assessed player talent through offensive and defensive drills, and scrimmages. Some of those players were invited back for more evaluation on Sunday.
"I was impressed by the level of talent that came out for our local player tryouts," commented Coach Vincent. "All of the guys were well prepared and several played well enough to receive a call back to our official training camp in early November. We will be evaluating our team and finalizing the list to be released soon."
The Arsenal open the 08 - 09 season on the road against the Idaho Stampede in Idaho on Saturday, November 29 at 6:00pm. The Arsenal's home opener will be on Wednesday, December 3 at 7:00pm against the Reno Bighorns at the Arena at the Anaheim Convention Center.
