
Anaheim adds Center Ha Seung-Jin to roster

ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 31, 2006 - The Anaheim Arsenal has acquired center Ha Seung-Jin and waived forward Sean Banks.
Ha, 7-3, 305-pounds, was the Portland Trail Blazers' second-round (46th overall) selection in the 2004 NBA Draft. In 46 games (four starts) with the Trail Blazers over the last two seasons he averaged 6.9 minutes, 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds. He is the first player from Korea to play in the NBA.
This is Ha's second stint in the D-League, having been assigned to the Fort Worth Flyers by Portland last season. In five games with the Flyers he averaged 14.4 minutes, 2.0 points and 3.8 rebounds.
He played for Yonsei University and Samil Commercial School (high school) in South Korea in 2002-03, then spent the 2004-05 season working out in Los Angeles to get ready for the 2004 draft. Ha was the driving force behind Samil Commercial School's 22-game winning streak in 2003, and its run of four basketball championships, including the high school tournament crown at the National Sports Festival in Cheju. In the Junior World Championships, he averaged 19.2 minutes, 11.0 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks.
Banks was picked up by the Arsenal on Dec. 17 and has played in four games, averaging 14.8 minutes, 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists.
Ha is expected to be in uniform when the Arsenal is host to Idaho on Thursday.
